Providing our animals with the best possible breeding conditions is a priority for us. That is why we care about their welfare and ensure that they are reared in a stress-free manner. Read how we do this.
All our animals are born and raised in Poland, in Pomerania. Our animal farms are located close to each other, thus reducing transport and the associated stress on the animals.
Animal care is the most important aspect for our employees. The farms are staffed by experienced personnel who, thanks to their excellent knowledge of animal behaviour, among other things, are able to assess whether an animal is too warm or cold, whether it requires vet care or other measures to improve its welfare.
We nurture the innate immunity of our animals by providing them with well-balanced feed and proper rearing conditions. We vaccinate them at later stages of life to provide additional protection, allowing us to limit the use of antibiotics only to situations where the vet determines that it is really necessary.
We are well aware of our animals' behaviour - pigs are a herd species, so we ensure that they are raised in the same groups from birth. They naturally form a hierarchy and choose a leader, which helps to reduce aggression and unnecessary stress. As a result, there is peace on the farms and the animals feel safe and comfortable.
On each of our farms, we ensure that the animals have access to natural daylight, as we know that it helps to maintain their natural diurnal rhythm, reduces stress and thus influences their comfort.
Pigs are animals that get bored quickly, so toys are provided in the pens to satisfy their natural rutting reflex, which promotes their proper development and reduces stress levels. The toys are made of natural materials and their size is adapted to the animals' age.
We know that a well-balanced diet affects the proper development of our animals, which is why we prepare the feed ourselves, with the utmost care - in our Feed Mill. The composition of the feed, most of which is made up of Polish cereals, is adapted to the needs of the pigs - depending on their age range.
